Best cycling deals 2022: Best discounts on bikes and kit

A round-up of the best cycling deals to be found online for everything from bikes to accessories

Joe Delves
5 Aug 2022

Like David Dickinson in a Herefordshire auction room, we go mad for a bargain here at Cyclist. From bike computers to helmets, winter jackets to turbo trainers, there are always top deals to be found online, you just have to know where to look.

Sale periods like Black Friday and Boxing Day are always good starting points for tech and component discounts and can also be handy for picking up bargains on out-of-season kit too. However, such is the modern world that seldom will there be a period where items are not being offered for less than their RRP.

Below we’ve hand-picked some of the best deals on bikes and cycling goods available right now. If nothing takes your fancy now, keep checking back as we are keeping this page regularly updated.

Best cycling deals UK

Zipp 303 S Carbon Tubeless Disc Brake Wheelset

Was £1,031.00, Now £779.99 – Save 25%

These versatile wheels from fancy-pants brand Zipp are suitable for everything from road and cyclocross to gravel. With 45mm deep rims, they’re also extremely wide, a facet that allows them to accommodate tyres up to 50mm in width.

Using the latest hookless rim desisgn, they’re also relatively lightweight at a claimed 1,530g for the pair. Generally making products of bombproof quality, Zipp also offers a lifetime warranty.

Elite Tuo Turbo Trainer

Was £445.00, Now £199.00, – Save 55%

Once winter rolls around, there’s always a scrabble for budget turbo trainers. So while it’s still a bit warm to think about holing up in your pain cave, it pays to buy early.

This model from Elite is the cheapest we’ve found that offers automatic variable resistance for the full Zwift experience. Sure it’s a ‘wheel-on’ style design and not direct drive, but at £199 it’ll leave you money left to enjoy the summer.

Garmin Rally RK100 Power Meter Pedals

Was £579.99, Now £449.99 – Save 22%

These easy-to-fit and transfer power meter pedals from Garmin are a great way to gain insight into your fitness. Although sensing your output from a single side, they’re more than enough for most riders. Letting you track your training progress, these particular models are compatible with Look’s Keo-type cleats. Also measuring your cadence, they can communicate with your head unit via both ANT+ and Bluetooth.

POC Omne Air Spin helmet

Was £140, now £30 – save 79%

The Omne Air Spin is one of Poc’s more affordable helmets but it benefits from trickle-down technology such as the SPIN rotational impact protection and the lightweight adjustable dial for the ultimate fit. It’s also a neat-looking helmet with reasonable ventilation for the warmer days.

Sigma is currently offering a huge 79% off with only small, black helmets available. Be quick!

LifeLine Performance 39 Piece Tool Kit

Was £149.99, £89.99 - Save 40%

A good tool kit is always a good investment. Made by Wiggle’s in-house Lifeline brand, the items included here are all of good quality and should last many years if used with care. Which rather leads one to ask: why have they been discounted?

If we had to hazard a guess, it’d be because things like the multiple cone spanners and crank extractor might now be less relevant to some riders. However, if the tools fit your bike, this selection is a bargain.

Continental GP5000 clincher tyre twin pack

Was £119.98, now £72.99 – save 39%

From the most popular cycling tyre dynasty of all time, Continental’s GP5000 is pretty much the ideal all-around tyre doing that tough task of perfectly mixing puncture protection, rolling resistance, grip and durability in a product that can genuinely be used 365 days a year. ProBikeKit is currently offering almost £50 off a twin pack of tyres, with 23 and 25mm options.

Note these are the clincher version, not their tubeless siblings.

SiS Go Isotonic energy gel 30 pack

Was £48, now £24 – save 50%

It’s always worth stockpiling gels. You'll need them all year round and with the fact that they have such a long expiration date, you can just leave them at the back of the cupboard until such time you need them.

This deal means you're paying just 80p per gel which is quite the steal considering they are usually £1.50 sold individually.

Fizik R5 Tempo Overcurve road shoes

Was £160, now from £88 – save 45%

An impressive set of shoes that are suited to long days in the saddle, the Fizik R5 Tempo Overcurve shoes combine a single Boa dial and Velcro strap for a secured fit, with a staggered collar that follows the misalignment of the ankle for a truer fit.

The nylon sole isn’t the stiffest but will ensure comfort and sufficient pedal efficiency. Available in five colours and in half sizes from EU36 through to EU48.

Saris Bones Solo Single Bike Rack

Was £59.99, Now £29.99 - Save 50%

Don’t intend on giving anyone a lift? This single-bike rack for dedicated loners is one of our favourite designs. It is secure and easy to fit and possesses the solidity associated with Saris products. This means that despite its budget cost, you’ll still have purchased peace of mind when it comes to hauling your bike on the motorway.

Dhb R2.0 Road Helmet

Was £50.00, Now £25.00 - Save 50%

Need a decent road helmet and don’t want to spend too much money? Even at full price, we thought this model from Dhb was a good bet. Effortlessly passing for a more expensive product, it’s subject to the same safety standards as more expensive models too.

The R2.0 is well-finished and reasonably ventilated, it comes in two sizes and a ton of colours. All of them are also now on sale, with 50% off.
